Ooh La La

Ooh La La! is an XR experience that merges two distinct worlds: a Virtual Reality playground and a Mixed Reality musical orchestra, paired with interactive toys. Its primary goal is to destigmatise societal taboos surrounding wellbeing, acting as an icebreaker while providing entertainment for users.

The PlayGround

 In the VR "PlayGround," users explore a whimsical space where playful elements represent various aspects of sex. Through interactive games, users engage with sexual-themed objects, reframing them as tools for enjoyment and entertainment. This encourages a fresh and lighthearted perspective on sexuality within a safe virtual environment. The games within this playground are designed to represent sexual relationship with a humorous and endearing twist.

The Orchestra

 The Orchestra (Mixed Reality) In this MR "Orchestra" the participants step into a majestic concert hall, assuming the role of a conductor in an innovative musical journey. Within this grand setting, they engage using hand tracking with a fascinating array of unconventional instruments, each resembling real sex toys. These physical objects are arranged on a platform, perfectly mirroring their presence in the virtual environment. As users interact with these instruments, they trigger a comical sensual sound, forming a musical composition.

Taboo around Sex

Sex toys have always been a taboo in every culture, from being deemed radical or dirty to the severe embarrassment of buying them off the shelves, they have always had a negative stigma attached to them. In Hong Kong, a 2022 study by pleasure brand Lelo shows 47 per cent of 25-34-year-olds are afraid of sharing private sexual thoughts with partners, and 38 per cent believe sex toys are perverted. 

 However, there is research indicating that sex toys can have positive impacts on sexual health and relationships, and that overcoming the taboo around these products can help to promote a more positive and healthier attitude towards sexuality. With this experience we intend to reduce, if not irradicate this stigma from the minds of the player in a comical manner.
